Question : Can you advise on how much to lower Abilify dose on holiday weekend when PMHNP is out of town. Recently increased dose from 5mg to 10 mg about 5 days ago and feeling very restless and unable to sit still

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Agitation and restlessness is well known side effect of ability and there is no doubt that dose need to be decreased.

The advice is as follows
If you recently started 5 mg abilify you need to go back to 5 mg per day. In case this is not an suitable option take ability on alternate days.

In case you are on 5 mg ability for long duration (4 weeks or more) than you need to take 7.5 mg of ability. This can be done by taking one and half tablet of 5 mg ability.
