Is A Dosage Of 0.125 Mg Of Rexulti Every Other

Question: Is a dosage of 0.125 mg of rexulti every other day an acceptable treatment as an add on to an antidepressant? My doctor says that this is the case.
Brief Answer:
The starting dose is just 0.5 mg per day
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
The starting dose of Rexulti as an adjuvant therapy in treatment of depression is 0.5 mg per day and so the 0.125 mg every other day can not be considered as accepted dosage.
In case there are some compelling reasons such as problems with metabolism of drug than the dose can be considered acceptable.
I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.

Thank you!! I was also wondering if this is a common add on drug for OCD. My doctor claims that this drug is supposed to be effective for helping people with OCD. However, have actual scientific studies been done on this?
Brief Answer:
There are limited studies but I agree with your doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
Although there are limited studies with Rexulti as add on therapy in treatment of OCD but considering its receptor profile I feel this could be potential add on in the future in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder.
All other medications from the same class (atypical antipsychotics) are great add on therapy in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder and it should not XXXXXXX anybody if Rexulti becomes recommended medication for add on treatment in OCD.
I hope this helps you.
