Dear Friend, greetings from HCM. I understand your concern. Fasting glucose must be with in 100 mg/dl. Now it is very high. But you need not panic. You see if he is having any stress or infections first. Later after a month you repeat his fasting and post prandial glucose levels. Along with HbA1c, lipid profile and microalbuminuria. If it is still over 200 then meet your doctor and start metformin. Also he needs good lifestyle modifications.
