Is A Minor Head Injury In An Infant A Concern?

Question: My 3.5 years old daughter was playing and feel hitting her back part of the head on a corner stone,it started bleeding alot,we put ice and ut stopped.the cut doesnt appear too deep and she is absolutey normal ,playing eating touchwood.i hope there is no tests required and how should we treat the wound.

Hello. I just read through your question.

These types of injuries are often very bloody. But they frequently turn out to be very minor.

As long as there was no loos of consciousness at the time of the injury, there are no worries. just watch for vomiting in the first 24 hours. If this happens, she should be evaluated in an ER. If not, there is nothing else to do.

She has had cough for the last 3 -4 days and had been coughing in the night when lying down ,right now also she started coughing and vomited some food she had for dinner and is feeling slightly vomitish her alertness is fine and she is behaving absolutely noraml just some cough and the food she took out do we beed to worry right now its 12 in the night here?

You can give her Paracetamol half tablet of 250 mg twice daily for two days after food.. and if pain doesn't subside, you should take her to a dentist and get it examined.
