
Is A Negative 4th Generation HIV Combo Test Conclusive?

Question: Hi doctor
I had a unprotected sex episode with a female in january 2013 for about a month . I checked for hiv in the XXXXXXX that year also nov 14 and feb 2015 . I used a insti hiv 1-2 rapid finger prick test . And also a 4th gen combo test yesterday negative. My worry is could there be a chance of being selective antibody deficent i read up and panick about being antibody deficent and not being able to detect antibodys

Would you know if you were antibody deficent . Also would you recomend a pcr hiv test or do you think the antibody tests alone are enough.

I do not see any need for HIV PCR test.
Antibodies test after 3 months is conclusive.
Combo test has been done, it detects P 24 antigen too.It is a component of HIV virus.
So you need not worry at all about HIV.
Allay fears of HIV. Lead a normal life free of anxiety.
