Question: I had not done any exercise for about a year..I started to work out on my stationary bike about two months ago. Then as I was walking about a mile one of those days, I felt a sharp pain in the back of my right leg just below the calf. I can walk without pain. But after I walk longer I would get the pain again. I have to slow or stop and it goes away.. and so on. Now I rarely get on my bike for the last two weeks. And my calf looks a bit swollen. There is no skin discoloration it looks just like the left leg except is a bit swollen. However I have been favoring my left leg more due to the discomfort on the right. So Now the left it appears to start having a little pain too... Please help

Brief Answer:
pulled muscle,blood clot or else.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the reason can be pulled muscle, blood clot
or else.
* My recommendations at present

- Keep the leg elevated over 3 pillows when resting.
- Apply ice pack over the part 3 times a day.
- Tablet ibuprofen ( 400 mg ) 3 times a day after meals if no history of drug
sensitivity.

- Avoid smoking if doing.
- Keep your blood sugar under control.
- Get an appointment with your doctor for primary evaluation and discussing
need of lab tests, Doppler ultrasound of the lower limb for further
management.

Hope this information will be useful in your case.
