Question: My son has ACL . His MIR shows it clearly, He had a fall while running 20 days back He is studding in engineering college Can you please guide whether oepration is compulsory in such case . HIS MIR is enclosed here with . How long we can prolong the operation and what is the cost io of it

I have gone through the report attached. It clearly shows complete ACL tear.
Arthroscopic surgery should be undertaken in young, active patients because the ACL will not heal unless surgically restored. A single hamstring tendon from the back of thigh is the preferred graft.
It is better to get it operated early because it is not going to heal without surgical intervention. Surgery will cost around 50-80 thousands.

Thanks for your quick reply . I am eager to know for how much hours this surgery is ? How much time it takes to heal after surgery? My son stays in traivandrum and i stay in Nagpur . I am asking this question from the point of view complexity of this surgery and whehter parental precense is required...

thanks , i would like to know Post Surgery ,, Will my son require any external assisance to go to bath , wash room , or just going near by for lunch of course with clucthes . Or he will have to sit at one place all the time and would require external assiatance in the form of nurse or parents...

For initial 2 weeks he may need crutches to walk around. He will not have to sit at one place all the time after operation. He will be able to go washroom and nearby with knee brace and help of crutches.
