Brief Answer: yes. they are contagious and spread by droplets. Detailed Answer: Hello, I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Most common acid fast bacilli are mycobacterium tuberculosis and mycobacterim leprea. Both causing contagious disease called tuberculosis and leprosy respectively. Tuberculosis is contagious and spread from infected person through sputum by cough and the bacteria spread through droplet to other person. Leprosy spread by same ,mechanism as I described above through droplets. Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries.
