Brief Answer:
Pain killers will be helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Kindly let me know what is your query. I realize that you are having pain.Over-the-counter pain medicines, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to help reduce pain. I would suggest you not to scratch the skin where the rash is located. Mostly shingles go away by themselves with or without treatment. The rash and pain will be gone in two to three weeks.

The rash has been gone since mid March with just a slight pink left where it covered. I did not have a lot of blisters. It started at the L1 and went around left side to the naval. The enlargement (MUSCLE) is still there and that is what I am concerned about. Under this muscle is where the pains and inflammation are still present. From my back to around the side is still tender and very sensitive to clothing and touch. Please let me know about this large muscle (buldge) is something I need to be concerned with. It is uncomfortable and sensitive..

Brief Answer:
Proper physical examination recommended.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern. Yes you must get evaluation done properly to see the cause. You must visit the orthopedic surgeon for proper examination. Depending upon the examination finding you might require few investigation. It could be the deep muscle fascia infection or post herpetic neuralgia which is giving you strange sensations and muscular hypertrophy.

Take care
