Brief Answer:
Yes, your liver will not withstand this and many other organs!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks so much for this query.

I am not to happy to hear you drink this much. Please, excess alcohol is detrimental to health. Most cases of liver failures and cancer of the liver results from excess alcohol consumption. Cancers, hypertension, dementia, heart failure, etc. are all linked to excess alcohol consumption. Besides, acute complications such as loss of consciousness and maybe poor concentration when carrying out delicate tasks such as driving, operating machines, etc.

To me, there is every reason to get concerned. If you can reduce your alcohol intake, that will be one of the single best decision at this time to save you so much more in future.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

How do I start cutting back on the drinking?

Answered by Dr. Ivo Ditah (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Start by not having wine at home!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is a real process and needs commitment from you. It starts with the desire to cut down and your questions shows that you are serious about doing so.

I will say start with simple things like getting involved in hobbies with friends who dink only little, avoid always having alcohol at home, etc. Also, substitute most glasses of alcohol with water. This will help.

Ultimately, joining an alcohol anonymous group is great. This way, you learn from others on how they managed to overcome their own drinking problems. You will then have a full basket of ways to stay away from this.

If all these fail, then we will consider adding medicals to help with this.

Let me know how you do as you start this journey.

Thumbs up!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Am happy to hear about this progress. I will say this is a significant step and you should continue. The goal now is to reduce to minimum and that is already good enough. Let’s try to at least maintain this for a while and then make more cuts once you are able to cope with this levels.

Also, talk to your friends, non alcoholics mostly, about your plans and the ongoing changes. Above all, stay away from persons who continue drinking excessively.

Keep me regularly updated with your progress.
