Question : Can I drink 2-3 drinks before insertion of a Paraguard? Last time I tried to have it inserted it was so excruciatingly painful that I had to have it stoppped

Nothing bad can happen if you take a few drinks before insertion, but it may still be painful and alcohol will not prevent this.
Ideally, it would be better to inform the performing doctor about previous painful insertion, so that it can be done under general anaesthesia, or under strong opioid painkillers (in such given scenario, you should avoid the drinks).
