Is Alcohol Intake Advisable While On Klonopin?

Question : We are concerned for a friend taking Cymbalta, along with excessive drinking, also taking anxiety drug klonapin, and sleeping medication. He also is not consistent in taking this medication. Sleeps long hours, has memory loss, and seems like he is flatlining. When he drinks, which is a lot, he is a mess, he is in a downward spin, and we are concerned about an overdose, and his failure to function at his job. Need advise on what we can do to help him, before it's too late. Appreciate some input, thank you, M

Combining alcohol with Klonopin and sleeping pills can result in sedation, respiratory depression, seizures, coma, and death. This is a very serious matter. This person need inpatient detox and rehab for alcoholism. You should convince this person to seek treatment by going to the emergency room.
