
Is Alkaline Phosphatase Value Of 109 A Cause For Concern?

Question: I recently had a blood test which showed a alkaline phospatase level of 109. I am a 64 year old XXXXXXX XXXXXXX woman with no health issues. What does this mean? Should I be concerned?

Alkaline phosphatase is a liver enzyme which is elevated in many conditions like Liver infection, viral infection, bone problems, drug or alcohol intake.
The elevation in alkaline phosphatase is very mild and hence nothing to be of concerned .
Just let me know if you have any problem like fever , joint pain or did you consume alcohol or any medicine recently.

Well your pain could be due meniscus problem again. If any exercise was advised to you kindly restart it and observe if the pain resolves . else you may have to consult the orthopedic doctor to check if any residual meniscus problem is there or not .
You can take Combiflam for pain relief.
Bone problem can increase Alkaline phosphatase but not meniscal problem . But in my opinion there is no need to worry about that . Just repeat Alkaline phosphatase test after 1 month and revert back with reports.
