Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

If there are any symptoms related to the back which were not present before it, MRI is a good idea. Especially if you have any arms or legs numbness, pains, weakness or lack of sensation.
MRI is the best test to rule out any spinal cord injuries/compression. It can not be replaced by an X-ray.
So if you have problems caused by car accident, MRI should be done.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

You should consult neurosurgeon or orthopedist with this MRI result. The correlation between the symptoms and changes in the MRI should be considered as maybe you need spine surgery to fix your problems.

Detailed Answer:
The need of epidural makes the surgery more possible. I assume that your pain radiates through the buttock into the leg so the walking is very painful.
You should definitely consult a neurosurgeon.

Groin and lower abdominal pain can be also associated with some other issues like urinary tract infection, kidney stones or ovaries issues. Please have urine analysis and consult gynecologist.
