Is An Episode Of Forgetfulness A Cause For Concern?

Question: Hello, I am a female 69 years old who exercises regularly doing pretty strenuous cardio and weights 4-5 times per week. I eat pretty healthy and am 5'6" tall and weight 130. I have successfully treated hypertension and use Biotin and Vitamin D along with Chlorthalidone 25mg qd. I feel healthy but occasionally have what my internist thinks are migraines with a dull ache and large, ocular spots which only last 15-20 minutes if I rest. I have had these infrequently (3 -4 per year). This morning I had a period of forgetfulness in which my husband said I asked him to take my blood pressure. I do not remember that situation involving the B/P at all.....it was normal though. My awareness was simply that I was having problems thinking. My husband says I made perfects sense during that period and showed no symptoms of a stroke or ascemic event. It all lasted a short period and I went on to my volunteer job at school and feel fine but tired now. We just got home from some work and play in XXXXXXX being gone a month. What do you think? Should I pursue this?
Brief Answer:
I don't see anything to worry about.

Hello and thanks for using HelthcareMagic.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Just one episode of forgetfulness doesn't mean necessarily that there is an underlying condition that should be the culprit.
I agree with your Internist that you should not worry much more than necessary.
This episode may be linked to fatigue, stress, etc. and it seems not related to migraines.
I think you should get evaluated further IF there will be any other episodes of forgetfulness, cognitive issues, etc.
In such cases, the transient ischemic attack should be considered.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
