Is Antidepressant Safe To Take Along With Citalopram?

it would be best not to, most can have possible serious side effects
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Citalopram works by increasing the levels a chemical called serotonin.
Most of the commonly used antidepressants also work by increasing these levels. This means that levels of serotonin can rise to dangerous levels if two of these types of anti depressants are used together (this excludes meds like cymbalta, zoloft, paxil etc).
It also cannot be combined with medications such as venlafaxine and it is not advised to be used with welbutrin either
If your doctor wishes to add another medication then you would need to check possible interactions with this specific medication.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
