Question : Hi my bilirubin level is 32,two years previously it was 28 should I be concerned?
Brief answer....nothing to worry if you have Gilbert' syndrome
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Gilbert's is a genetic condition where people have persistent high levels of serum bilirubin levels. It is common to find bilirubin levels in range from 17 to 100 micromol/ L in patients suffering from Gilbert's syndrome. Your levels of 32 are all right and consistent with your diagnosis.
There is nothing to worry as it is a benign condition.
Patients with Gilbert's disease have normal life span.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
