Question : Hi I'm a 32 year old healthy mom of 2. I recently had a miscarriage and have been bleeding in between periods ever since. I have had ultrasounds...blood tests...biopsy of the cervix all came back negative. The only thing left to do is a hysteroscopy which I'm trying to avoid due to its invasive nature. My question is the following : is it possible for my body to adjust on its own? Or are the possibilities of this being an anatomical problem greater? (Like a piece of the previous pregnancy left behind)
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Can be a mild hormonal disturbance.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

After a miscarriage, there can be a mild hormonal disturbance and the disturbance in the bleeding pattern can continue for 4-6 weeks. The chances of having an anatomical problem are low.

You can start with a combined oral pill after consulting your gynecologist to regulate the bleeding pattern. After 1-2 cycles stop the pills and see if the intermittent bleeding has stopped or not.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
