Question: My blood sugar is 342 and has been for over two hours since I took my medication . Metformin 500 mg and glipizide 5 mg. I am light headed. What should I do? It has never been this high. This has from having too much starch today.

I may suggest to recheck it if it is persistently high do
- Fasting and post-prandial blood sugar level.
- HbA1c.
- Urine ketones.

And consult your treating diabetologist.
This high blood sugar may be transient due to high starch intake or it may be persistent which require change in your medications.
