Is Blood Sugar Level Of 98 A Cause For Concern?

Posted on Wed, 6 Sep 2017
Question: My husband will be 79 on the 28th of this month. He is losing weight for no apparent reason. He has gotten somewhat forgetful lately and I think it may be tied into his blood sugar. I tested it a while ago when we woke up and it was reading 98- isn't that quite low?

Brief Answer:
No,that's not quite low.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

No, blood sugar 98 is ok.Its not a cause of concern.

He may be examined by a Neurologist for memory loss. If there is significant memory loss, he might need to undergo a MRI Brain. It needs to be observed if weight loss is significant. If significant, he might need evaluation.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
