Hello,

there are various forms of bronchitis. Most of them are caused by either bacteria or viruses and they are contagious. Chronic bronchitis which is one of the clinical presentations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is not contagious. Sometimes COPD can be complicated by infections though (which are contagious of course). So there is no simple answer. If you're talking about fever, cough and phlegm then this is probably an infection...
