Is Brown Discoloured Semen Indicative Of Bleeding?

Most commonly due to the presence of blood, may not be significant
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Blood in the semen is the most common reason for it to appear brown.
This is called hematospermia. Though it may look alarming, in many cases, there is no significant cause, it usually does not mean that there is any significant disease present.
In some cases, it resolves on its own in 1 to 2 months.
Causes of hematospermia/blood in the semen include--
(1)biopsy of the prostate
(2)infection of the prostate
(3)prostatic cancer
(4)infection/inflammation of the urethra which is the passageway along the penis through which urine and semen pass
(5)cysts or infections of the seminal vesicles which are glands that play a role in making semen
(6)blood disorder
(7)severe uncontrolled blood pressure also increases the risk of hematospermia
In some cases, the exact cause is not found
You can consider consulting your urologist to determine the cause for you if it can be found.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
