Question: Hello,
I am currently 18 weeks 3 days pregnancy. Last monday i had little brown spotting early morning and then nothing, tuesday again i had spotting this time more pinkish so i went to my gynac and did ultrasound which showed everything normal wid baby. My placenta is anterior, cervix is 3.8 cm. But since then i am spotting on and off and mostly when i wipe, though intensity increased fr first two days and then has decreased and its brownish but i am worried. I am takin duvadilan retard twice a day since tuesday as prescribed by my gynac. Also i had history of pcod about 4 years back which was treated then.

Brief Answer:
Can be idiopathic

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
I have reviewed the report.
The bleeding in second trimester of pregnancy can be due to placenta previa, bleeding in the placenta, local causes in cervix or vagina like polyp or idiopathic ( no cause found).
Since the ultrasound report is normal, placenta previa and bleeding in the placenta are ruled out.
Local causes should be ruled out by proper internal examination.
If nothing is found, then it is idiopathic bleeding and you should continue rest and medication as advised.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Rest advised

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Progeterone supplementation can be given in unexplained bleeding in pregnancy.
However, since your OBGYN specialist might have examined and assessed your condition in detail, she/he is a better situation to decide.
You continue rest and avoid heavy work.
