Bruising not necessarily in fracture or dislocation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. In both conditions including hip fracture and dislocation, there is a sudden swelling which develops after injury followed by restricted or inability to move the joint. Therefore a swelling which appears quickly after injury can be a fracture or dislocation.
2. Pain is significant and apparent limb shortening can be there.
3. Bruising is not seen in every case of hip fracture or dislocation. Sometimes bruising can be delayed in both conditions. It is best to do a x ray and then proceed with required treatment if any fracture or dislocation is confirmed.
Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
