Is Bypass Surgery Advisable After Suffering A Mild Heart Attack?

Question: father had mild heart attack on 25th and he did not inform us about the pain & after today check ups of echo n angiography report found 90 percent blockage in main artery n been suggested go for bypass in 15 days & for 15 days medicine is prescribed.... please suggest should we get bypass immediately as mom is going to have knee replacement surgery on 3rd nov which has been scheduled way back...and any precautionary measure to look for him

Since your father has had a mild heart attack on 25th of October he can't do an immediate bypass surgery. In case of recent heart attack (no matter its severity) it's recommended to wait for at least two weeks and then perform bypass surgery.

Meantime he should continue with doctor treatment and he should conduct a healthy lifestyle ( avoid smoking, alcohol etc.). Moreover he should limit outdoor physical activity in order to reduce the risk for a second heart attack.

Can you please upload the list of medications he is taking?
