Brief Answer:
Chronic vomiting is not a symptom of FSHD.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted the medical details and symptoms of the child.

I would like to reassure you that chronic vomiting is not an early symptom of facio scapulo humeral muscular dystrophy (FSH MD).

The symptoms of FSH MD would include weakness of facial, shoulder and sometimes, leg muscles.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Brief Answer:
Serum CPK would suffice.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Usually, genetic testing is not routinely done.

Serum CPK level may be done, which would be elevated in patients with FSH MD.

If needed, later on, EMG and muscle biopsy may be done for confirmation of diagnosis.

Best wishes,
