Question: I am now taking a coconut oil supplement. I hope to lose a few pounds to help my knees. Is there anything you can tell me about this?

Brief Answer:
THis might not be very effective in women, and overall population!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this knee pain/difficulties and the weight issues. Yes, loosing some weight would definitely help with the knees. However, coconut oil has not demonstrated convincingly to help with this. In fact, the last study showed that it could help reduce the waist size only in men and had no impact on body mass index.

I will not be too positive recommending this. I will rather suggest that you talk to a dietitian to help plan meals to help with this. Other medications might help but I will let the dietitian to help assist with this.

I hope this addresses your concerns. I am always available for more exchanges if need be.
