Is Drinking Ginger Advisable To Detox The Body?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Sep 2016
Question: Thank you and yes I have researched the substance so already have some understanding of it's horiffic make up. However I am unable to convince the person in question to attend an inpatient programme but feel desperate to help in some way ! Naturally that would be the best answer. My question however was what can assist the body's healing? ? I have looked into natural remedies such as Dandelion, milk thistle, seaweed or possibly spiruleana and such likes ? Drinking ginger I know helps the body rid itself of toxins but then so does Vit B3 for example. Do you have any recommendations from a supplement point of view ?? A good detox recommendation ? Can you give me a better idea of what the damage could be from this substance and over what time frame. I believe it's been a few years of use already ??

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

Unfortunately nothing can facilitate the body's healing from these damaging substances. Natural remedies and supplements unfortunately have no robust scientific evidence (randomized controlled trials) supporting their use, and in fact because they are unregulated they often have harmful substances such as mercury in them. There is no way to detox from "cat" other than to stop using it completely. A few years of use can cause irreparable brain damage, damage to the esophagus and stomach lining, and heart problems. The only solution here is to stop using, which would best be facilitated by inpatient rehab.
