Brief Answer:
D dimer in this case is elevated enough to go for a check up

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

My name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

D dimer test is used to rule out active blood clot formation. It can be elevated for various health conditions.
In your case d dimer test result is more elevated than normal.
So in my opinion an ultrasound of the legs is necessary to evaluate for blood clots presence.
Also regular check-ups to your doctor are necessary.

Hope my answer was helpful.

I have no leg clot symptoms
I am having heart symptoms
My understanding is this test can indicate heart problems but I cannot find information on what level of d dimer would suggest a heart issue
Should I go to the emergency room with this test results and heart symptoms?
I am scheduled for a stress echo heart test on monday

Brief Answer:
When a patient have heart symptoms is better to go for a check up at the ER

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
D dimer is not a specific test that can value heart problems.

When coagulation markers like D dimer are elevated in time it can be a sign of heart problems.
This is because events like hyper coagulation or vascular disease that elevated d dimer can also cause heart issue.
The examination that you will do on Monday is much more specific in confirming heart issues.

Anyway,I think that if a person have heart symptoms like you do is always better to go to the emergency room for a check up.

Hope my answer was helpful.
Take care.
