Is Flight Journey Safe When Diagnosed With A Dermoid Cyst?
Question: My petite 20 year old healthy daughter was just diagnosed with a baseball size dermoid cyst. Is it safe to fly her home for what will likely be surgery. The cyst is blocking her bowels and she is in a lot of pain, but OBGyn in her college town can't see her for days. And, do you think they can shrink the cyst and remove it via laperoscopy vs. a larger cut laperotomy?
Brief Answer:
Laparoscopy is possible. She can fly home!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Your daughter can fly home without any worries. Also, laparoscopy would be good enough for this surgery unless there is something else. I wish her the best possible management and a speedy recovery.
Thanks and keep me posted on this.
