Is Forgetfulness A Symptom Of Anxiety?

I am starting to forget some things these days. For example, I was reading a book and also surfing the net while drinking a glass of hot chocolate. I finished the hot chocolate and put the cup back in the kitchen and came back and started reading again with my laptop on the page that I was viewing as well. A little later, I looked around where I was sitting for the cup and couldn't find it, I asked my mom and she said you put it back in the kitchen. I could not recall going to the kitchen and putting it back. I could completely recall doing everything else before and after this but I just couldn't picture myself going to the kitchen and putting the cup back.
Something like this usually happens here and there, not too often but it worries me when it does happen. I try testing myself and I am able to sit down, and think about every single thing I did from the moment I woke up till now. I do this just to test my memory and usually have no problem going through the entire day. In the case of the hot chocolate, because the cup was not there, I knew I had to have put it back of course, but I just couldn't picture myself doing it, I couldn't recall it but I knew that I did it.
Other then that, my memory seems ok to me. I am very anxious these days and I have felt this kind of anxiety for about 1 month. When I forget something and can't recall doing it, the anxiety usually gets worse and I start to think something is very wrong with me. I feel like I'm always thinking of a lot of things in my head, and I never focus on one thing. For example, I go on doing my daily activities but I'm always thinking and stressing about other things. Sometimes I don't even know what I am stressed about. One friend said that "your doing one thing but your mind is always somewhere else."
Is the anxiety causing these memory lapses? Because I feel like I never forgot things before, only recently.
The anxiety is most likely cause
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through the provided description and understand your expressed concerns.
Considering all the facts your age, your earlier posts at this platform and current description it can be concluded that the problem is just inattention and nothing more. The anxiety and stress is probably is the most likely cause as no other disorder at this age can explain all the lapses and other things.
In anxiety our mind is occupied some irrational things and do not have cognitive ability to focus on relevant things on multiple occasions.
Considering all I must inform you that there is urgent need to take stress management seriously as chances of mental breakdown increases on each passing day.
I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regarsd
