Brief Answer:
If your baby is accepting breastfeeds normally, then it is okay.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

If your baby is otherwise fine and is accepting feeds like usual and is passing urine and stools as usual and is not crying constantly, then it is okay.

If you notice any of these signs I mentioned above, you should take your baby to the pediatrician and get checked.

Remember to burp your baby after every feed.

Do not give anything other than breast milk.

No formula, no top feeds, nothing.

Wash your hands regularly.

I hope this answers your concern, feel free to write back if you have any doubts.
Regards

Brief Answer:
The idea that breast milk is not sufficient is incorrect, feed with a spoon

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It is unfortunate that your wife has been told that she has inadequate amount of breast milk.

Any mother can feed up to 3 babies without any difficulty, the more breast feeding is done, more milk will be produced.

I strongly urge your wife to continue breast feeding for at least 2 years, and exclusive breast feeding up to 6 months.

She should consume a glass of water before breast feeding, and she should breast feed every 2 to 3 hours once.

And every time she breast feeds, she should feed from one side only for at least 20 minutes and then change side.

Should empty the entire breast each time, and this complete emptying will release prolactin from pituitary gland which stimulates the breast to produce more milk.

The problem with first time mothers is, they will believe anything that is told to them by our neighbors and our mothers and grandmothers, and it is this constant negative comments from people around us that keep telling that breast milk is not enough.

You must encourage your wife to breast feed exclusively.

Never ever use bottle to feed formula milk.

I hope this will give you more useful information.
Regards
