Is Frequent Urination During The Night A Side Effect Of Clobetasol?

default
Posted on Wed, 19 Apr 2017
Question: Three doctors have told me that there is no problem using high potency Steroids (Clobetasol) and that it can not be the cause of side effects I think I get. After using that steroid or Betamethasone I experience constant hourly urge to urinate throughout the night.

Brief Answer:
Not due to topical corticosteroids

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir, since clobetasol is a topical corticosteroid cream it could not predispose to the frequency of urination at night..
you need to investigate other causes which include:
1) diabetes, diagnosis is done by testing fasting and post prandial blood glucose levels
2) urinary tract infection, diagnosis is done by a urine analysis and is treated by antibiotics
3) prostatic enlargement, diagnosis is done by ultrasound pelvis and could be treated by surgical removal
I hope I answered your question. if you don't have any other clarifications then please close the discussion
