Question : My doctor has been giving me generic oxycodone APAP - 10-325 mg. I've been told to ask for the brand name due to the generic being weaker. Is this true, they seem to work well for my disc problems. Thank you for your assistance.

Brief Answer: some generics work well Detailed Answer: HI, thanks for using healthcare magic After the patent on a drug has expired, companies other than the original manufacturer are allowed to manufacture a drug. These are called the generics. In the majority of cases the brand is more expensive than the generic. Because of slight differences in manufacturing techniques and additives to the medication, there may be slight differences but they should be similar in most aspects. Similar strengths, mode of action, side effects. Some persons do not have a good response with generics of medications whereas others do, they work well for them. If the medication is working well for you then there is no reason to change it. I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
