Blood glucose level not indicative for diabetes;repeat fasting glucose test
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
1. Glucose level of 129 after eating breakfast is still within normal range whenever the blood was withdrawn. The normal range is lower than 140 mg/dL after eating.
2. This level is not worrisome. I would ask to run a simple fasting blood glucose testing to see what your fasting levels are. However, I still say that your level is within normal range and not worrisome.
3. Gestational diabetes is often detected later during your pregnancy; You can repeat testing when you'll be 27 weeks.
I always advise my pregnant patients to regularly monitor their blood pressure and sugar levels once they enter 27 weeks of pregnancy and forward.
Although pregnancy is associated with increased hunger; I always advise my patients to eat healthy and do not overcome with the calories intake. Regular walking and other pregnancy exercises can also prevent onset of gestational diabetes.
Good luck!
