                                            Question : Hi Doctor,
I performed lab work four to six months ago. The doctor told me that everything looked good, except for that my liver was a slight fatty liver.
I have worked in an office and as a student for nearly a decade, so I have sat a lot. I am also a single man, so I used to eat lots of fatty foods at fast food restaurants. I try to work-out at the gym a few times a week, but not all of the time. I've recently learned about the importance of exercise and eating a low fat and overall healthy diet.
Now, the doctor wants me to give blood again, only four to six months later. Why so soon? Should I be concerned about this?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Since you have a fluctuant blood pressure and fatty liver, your doctor may be checking on these factors.
Fatty liver is not an indicator of your fat intake. It may be related to inflammation of the liver - steatohepatitis. If there is elevated liver enzymes, you may require to follow up on these and may require further investigations.
It is better to find problems early and take care.
A stitch in time saves nine is a good principle to follow.
