Is Hemoglobin Count Of 46 A Cause For Concern?
Question: is hemoglobin too high at 46?
Brief Answer:
yes if the value is measured in g/dL
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM,
Different labs use different units to measure the value of hemoglobin.
In general is used grams/dL.
With these units the normal values of hemoglobin are:
Male 13.8 to 17.2 grams/dL
Female 12.0 to 15.6 grams/dL
So, doable check on your lab result if that is the unity measurement of your hemoglobin, and if it is g/dL then yes- 46 is a very high value.
Hope this is helpful.
