                                            Question : Hi Doctor,
My wife has low haemoglobin blood count(7.4) and low iron content(28) in her body.
She is planning to concieve.
Please let me know if there will be complications if we go ahead

Hello,
your wife is suffering from moderate anemia with iron deficiency disorder. It is important that her hemoglobin levels are brought up till 12gm% before conception should be planned . If conceived , then there may be chances of threatened miscarriage and most importantly poor foetal growth or intrauterine growth retardation with low birth weight babies.
