Is Inhalation Of Carpet Cleaner A Serious Cause For Concern?

Question: My husband went over our carpets with Hoover carpet cleaner. There was a stain he went over and I touched the spot where he went over with the machine and then touched under my nose to see if it was dog spitup. I didn't put my finger in my mouth and went in the bathroom and washed under my nose and my hands. Could the carpet cleaner harm me - you dilute it with water in the machine.

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
thanks for sending the question.

Since you did not have significant internal exposure to the carpet cleaner it should not cause you any significant long-term problems.

You had a very limited exposure to this particular cleaning solution and I do not see any particular risk to your health at all.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
