Question : I accidentally give my qave month old 2.5 ml of ibuprofen. He weighs about 21 obs. Do I need to take him to the hospital? Is there anything I should do?
Brief Answer:
Observe. In case of any untoward presentation visit a hospital.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
The primary adverse effect of ibuprofen is gastritis or stomach irritation. It is quite likely that your child will throw up or start crying due to tummy ache. If that happens it would be a good idea to visit a doctor / hospital. Monitor him. Give him increased breast feeding or ORS (oral rehydration solution). If nothing happens, you need not worry. I would not really get concerned about anything else.
