Is It Alright To Alternatively Have Tylenol And Advil For Fever?

You can give alternate advil and Tylenol
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms
You can definitely give Tylenol and Advil alternatively.
Tylenol (Generic name Paracetamol) is one of the safest antipyretic. The usual dosage is 15 mg per kilogram per dose given every 4 to 6th hourly.
Advil (Generic name Ibuprofen) is a potent analgesic and antipyretic. The recommended dosage is 8 to 10 mg per kilogram per dose given 6th to 8 hourly.
I would suggest you the following
1. Give Tylenol every 4th hourly. After 15 to 20 minutes of administration of drug, give whole body tepid sponging with water at room temperature (do not use ice water). It will rapidly bring down the temperature and also reduce the need for antipyretic.
If at 1.40 the temperature is more than 99°F then repeat dosage of Advil.
2. Reassess the temperature after 2 hours(3.40), if still having temperature of more than 99°F then you can give Tylenol.
3. Do consult your child Pediatrician whenever feasible.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
Take care
