Is It Fine I Had 13 Million Sperm Count When Sperm Analysis Was Done A Month Back?

Question: Dear Doctor, I am 36 years old male. we are trying to have child since 5 months but with no result. when i visited doctor, doctor insisted for FSH, LH and serum testoreone test. upon testing I found that TESTOSTERONE TOTAL is 1.07, where as normal range is 2.27 to 9.76 ng/mL can my serum Testosterone levels be improved? Also i had 13 million sperm count when sperm analysis was done a month back. Attached my report. Thank you.

Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Teststerone is borderline low and may not need treatment.

2) However I advice you get tested by your doctor for secondary sexual characters like hairs ( beards).

3) If normal , you may not need treatment.

4) Sperms counts are low. Please get it done again in a standard laboratory. If it comes smae or less, meet a fertility specialist and assess the need for Intrauterine insemination (IUI)

Dear Doctor XXXXXXX Thank you for prompt response. I have got semen analysis done yesterday (previous one was 1 month back where it was 13 million count). As per latest test it is 34 million/ml. please find my attached report. Thank you.

Hi,

There is lot of difference between 13 to 34 million and difficult to believe.

I guess one of these report could be wrong.

I suggest you repeat semen analysis after a gap of 3 days in another standard laboratory. Preferable do it in an IVF centre who are well trained in handling semen analysis accurately.
