Question : I have an enlarged goitor and if I am doing my yearly mammograme, it is better to use a shield to cover the nect part since radiation might do some harm in the thyroid area?

The dose of radiation in mammogram is minimal. It has not been shown to be associated with thyroid cancer in any study.
XXXXXXX thyroid association also does not recommend shielding the thyroid during mammography.
