Brief Answer:
It depends on the severity of the symptoms.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It would depend on the severity of your symptoms. If you are having severe aches and pain, headaches, persistent severe coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain or prolonged persistent fever (more than 3 days) - then you should be seen.

Some people have a severe form of influenza that requires a doctor or in some cases, hospitalization.

If your symptoms are not severe then you can manage at home with rest, fluids, paracetamol and cough/cold medicines that would contain a decongestant and cough suppressant E.g. Panadol multi-symptom (would not use paracetamol on its own if using this), Robitussin severe multi-symptom etc.

I hope this helps.
