Brief Answer:
Must try breast feeding as a priority.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Although sleeping is a common phenomenon at this age group, the breastfeeding must be tried as a priority.

Hold the baby in head up position. Keep patting gently over the shoulders and feet, not only this will help the baby to be awake but will help in burping after feeding. Milk-flow won't increase unless the baby starts sucking actively, and this has to be repeated several times as it may require multiple attempts to perfect this. If still reduced milk-flow, do talk your OBGYN / or the Pediatrician as medications can be prescribed to increase the milk-flow in that scenario.

Exclusive breastfeeding is strictly advisable for the first 6months.
