Question : Had laparoscopic robotic hysterctomy 6 weeks ago . A few days ago I noticed a long stitch just hanging out from my lower abdomen . Is it normal? Thank you ..:)

Hello, no it is not normal to have this long cut end of stitch from abdomen and that too after 6 weeks.
You need to visit your surgeon and get it examined.

I also had my appendix taken out when i was a child . It looks like the stitch is coming right trough the old scar ?

As it is there is nothing serious and it can be dealt easily on opd basis only but still needs to be examined by the surgeon and removed there and then.

In reference to my first question ... What could be the cause of the stitching coming out in a different area of abdomen ?

A non absorbable suture must have been used in your previous surgery during childhood.
As gas is used to distend the abdomen in robotic surgery, the pressure of gas must have made the stitch to pop out.
Rest the doctor will tell you the exact cause after examination.
