Question : Is it ok & safe to swish Pepto Bismol in mouth occasionally to sooth sores on my tongue? Sores are sometimes caused by burning tongue on foods that were too hot to eat or a rough spot on a tooth--different things. The PB brings immediate relief for me, but I am wondering if there may be unintended side effects. I do not swallow it-just hold it in my mouth and on tongue for about 30-60 seconds. Thanks.
