Question : I have to take misoprostol 600 MCG every 4 hours for 24 hours (18 pills) for a cervical biopsy. It seems like a large amount.does that seem like a correct dosage? Can I sleep while on this medication?

I understand your concerns.

600 mcg of misoprostol every 4 hours is a very high dose in my opinion.

It can cause heavy bleeding and abdominal cramps.

I would suggest a single dose of 600mcg misoprostol 4 hours before the biopsy procedure.

You can sleep with misoprostol provided the dose is correct.
