Brief Answer:
Menstrual cycles may get altered with pills.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Emergency contraception contains excessive hormone and thus creates hormone imbalance. This can cause breakthrough bleeds as well as delayed menstrual cycles.

If the emergency pill is taken within the stipulated time after an intercourse, it is highly protective.

As you have taken two of these pills in one single cycle, your periods can be expected to get delayed by a week or two. If you do not see a period even ten days after it is due, please see a specialist for further help.

You may then need to test for pregnancy, get a sonogram and if everything is fine, induce withdrawal bleeding through use of hormones.

Please do not use emergency pills as frequently as you did. They are meant to be used for the real emergencies and thus can be used once or twice in a year. Frequent use can cause permanent hormone imbalances with future fertility problems.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Please mention the duartion of the cycle.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Please mention the dates of your past cycles and the duration of your previous cycles. It is highly possible for a delayed cycle this month in view of the pill intake during this cycle. I can comment further if you can furnish me the dates.

Hope I have answered your doubt. Please get back if you need more help. I will be glad to do so.

Brief Answer:
This delay is most likely due to the pills.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

You have 25-day cycles as per the history. This delay is most likely to be the consequence of the pill intake. You would normally see your period on the 20th of July and as such, you have a delay of ten days. This means, you can see a specialist now for further help. You may need to exclude the remote possibility of a pregnancy and once negative, go for inducing a period with hormones.

Hope all your queries have been clarified. Please contact if you need any more information. I will be available to help.

Wish you good health.

Shanti.V.

Brief Answer:
Could be an impending period.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

These symptoms, in the absence of a pregnancy, mean an impending period. As I said earlier, due to the impact of the high hormone doses you have taken, your period is likely to be delayed by a week or two. The symptoms you have are due to hormone effect.Yet, it is good to pay a visit to the specialist for a proper appraisal of the situation.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please get back if you need more help. I will be ready to answer.

regards,
Shanti.V.
