Is It Possible To Get Pregnant After Taking Ipill Within 24 Hours After Sex?

Question: my period date was 10 th March, I hv nt got my periods. I hv got lot of constipation and bloating. I had unprotected sex on 4 th March, but was not released inside. But for protection I had ipill on 5 th March. what should I expect pregnancy or delayed periods.

The I pill, when taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex, is more than 95 % effective in preventing pregnancy. Hence, you stay protected reasonably well. Also, the I pill might delay or prepone your expected period by a week or more. So the delayed periods are most probably due to the I pill. so a I need to wait for my period to come from the date wen I took the ipill or from 10 th March which is my original date of my period. I hv sleepless nights. I dt want to be pregnant. Any home remedies which can initiate to get my periods..

Brief Answer: WAIT FOR A WEEK FROM TODAY. Detailed Answer: You need to wait for another week now starting from today. If you do not have your period till then, then take a pregnancy test. Also, there are no home remedies which can bring on periods, they will only worsen your pattern of menstrual cycle.

Mam, I would like to know ur XXXXXXX answer. it's 5 days my periods hv gt delayed. As I told you I had the ipill on 5 th March exactly and approx after 24 hrs. is there any chances of pregnancy, I m facing lot of anxiety. I am very tense. coz I cannot be pregnant and even I m pregnant. I dt want to delay coz what I hv done was not legal..So I want to know should I go and visit immediately the doctor or I can still wait. can u suggest any medication so that I get my periods immediately I was a pcod in the history. but for 6-7 yrs I hv had regular periods. Any medicine is there I should get my periods and if pregnant, for that the problem is also solved. I can't delay this matter any more. pls help me.. I m getting too stressed .

Brief Answer: PLEASE WAIT FOR A WEEK MORE. Detailed Answer: Hello As I have repeatedly clarified, when taken within 24 hours, the I pill is more than 95 % effective in preventing a pregnancy. I have already given XXXXXXX and clear answers, and I think the possibility of pregnancy is very less in your case. You have to be patient. Pregnancy , even if it present in your case, cannot be detected so early, and nothing can be done to get your periods ' immediately ' even if you are not pregnant. You can take a course of progesterone tablets for 5 days, and within a week of that, you would have your period, but even that, as you can calculate, will take 12 days. And this can be done, only if you are definitely not pregnant. For pregnancy resulting from sex on the 4th of March, you need to wait for atleast 2 weeks from then to detect a pregnancy. SO if you do not have your period by the 20th of March, you can take a pregnancy test. Before that , it is futile to take any medicines - like the I pill, it will further delay and complicate your cycles. Please be patient. I think the menstrual delay is because of the I pill, and maybe PCOD. Dont worry, dont stress out. Take care.
